FairFlat creators are rewarded for their posts, which makes those posts advertising under UK law. This policy explains your labelling duty. It is a mandatory part of the Creator Programme Terms.
1. Your legal duty to label
Because your FairFlat content is incentivised, it is subject to the ASA and CAP Code and to consumer protection law, including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (DMCC). Ads must be obviously identifiable as ads. Hidden advertising and undisclosed endorsements are unlawful.
2. How to label
- Use a clear label such as “Ad” or “#ad” upfront, before a viewer engages, not buried in a caption or hashtags.
- The label must be prominent: visible without tapping “more”, and readable in video overlays and stories.
- Use the platform’s paid-partnership tool where available, in addition to a written label.
- Our caption templates come pre-labelled with “Ad:”. Keep the label if you edit them.
3. Honesty
Your claims about FairFlat must be truthful and based on genuine experience. Do not invent results, imply guarantees, or make claims we have not published.
4. No rewarded reviews
We never pay for, or reward, app-store reviews or ratings, and you must not solicit incentivised reviews. Encouraging fake or paid reviews is prohibited and unlawful.
5. Consequences
Posting without a clear ad label puts both you and FairFlat at risk of enforcement action and fines. Non-disclosure is a material breach and may lead to suspension, removal, and withholding of unconfirmed rewards.
